Community Club of the Year 2011 and 2015
Currently running 49 teams, Leigh Ramblers Youth Football club is one of the largest football clubs of it’s kind in Essex and offers players and parents a friendly and professional environment from which to enjoy this great sport
Leigh Ramblers football club was founded in 1902 and celebrated in fine style their centenary in 2002 with over 400 guests attending a presentation at the Cliffs Pavilion, in Southend. well that was true until updated news was found telling us that the club was founded in 1897 making us even older.
The youth section was started in 1976 and had a few successful years, but it was not until 1999/2000 season that a new committee was formed and mini soccer was introduced to the club, we started with 4 teams and now have a 18 mini soccer teams, 23 11a side teams, 7 girls teams, with between 30 to 40 players training at u/6 level, Our aim is to find a level for all players who come to our club.
In November 2008 we achieved the FA community club award after long and hard work by committee members and in May 2011 we were awarded Charter Community club of the year, and again in 2015. Training takes place at different venues, including Belfair’s Rec, Chalkwell Park, and the 3G pitch at The Len Forge Centre
We believe that all players can play, have fun in a safe environment whilst building confidence in a group situation. We try to promote fair play and have equal opportunities for all. The Soccer Hub undertake the coaching of our youngest members the club has and runs soccer schools in the holidays with discounts for club members, They also run in school training at lunch times and after school clubs.
